The Echinocactus grusonii, commonly known as the 'Mother-in-law’s cushion' (Golden Barrow), is a true eye-catcher in any interior. How much water the plant needs depends on its location. If the plant is in a sunny place, it needs more water than in a shady location. Water the plant once every two weeks from April to September. When the days are shorter from October to March, it needs to be watered once a month. Make sure the plant is in well-drained soil so that water can drain easily and the plant does not suffer from root rot.
