Use first-generation Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices with your new Thunderbolt 3 computer. This adapter allows you to connect Thunderbolt 3 computers to older Thunderbolt devices, such as external hard drives, Thunderbolt displays, and older Thunderbolt capable computers. The adapter is backward compatible, allowing connection to first-generation Thunderbolt devices at 10Gbps speed and Thunderbolt 2 devices at 20Gbps. It satisfies all requirements for bi-directional data transfers and simultaneous power for bus-powered devices. The adapter is backed by a 2-year warranty for guaranteed reliability and is not compatible with Thunderbolt 4 computers. Your computer's Thunderbolt 3 ports might not function properly until you update your BIOS, Thunderbolt firmware, Thunderbolt 3 controller drivers, or Thunderbolt 3 software.
