Oak is a natural material, so colour and grain vary between units and should not be deemed a defect. Maintain the wood by wiping along the grain with a mild cleaner and drying immediately to prevent moisture. For iron and painted metal, use a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner; polish lightly if required and avoid harsh chemicals. Do not attempt to alter cord length; any adjustments should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Regular re-oiling is recommended for items with an oiled finish to preserve depth and longevity.
