This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain storm. Fabric waterproofing: The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2,000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2,000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). With a waterproof level of 15,000 mm, the trousers have a high level of waterproofing. FABRIC BREATHABILITY: To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape and the higher the fabric's breathability. As a rule of thumb: - RET 12 = little or no breathability The fabric of these trousers has a RET of 10 Pockets: The waterproof pocket on the thigh can be used for your phone (in airplane mode) for example, and therefore keeps it as far away as possible from your AVD (Avalanche Victim Detector). This will reduce interference between the phone and AVD TROUSER ACCESSORIES: The removable riser keeps the trousers in place when handling various items such as knives, bindings, skin and also stops snow getting inside .... We have added removable shoulder straps for you, these are an essential accessory for your winter trousers. For the finishing touch, small gaiters in stretch material have been built into these trousers to sit on your ski boot and stop snow getting inside. Ventilation: On the climb, open your vents on the outer side of your thighs as this is the best way to avoid perspiring too much. On the descent, don't forget to close them to stop the wind coming in and you getting cold. CARE ADVICE: Wash at 30°C. Use a liquid detergent and no fabric softener. Close the zips and wrist openings before machine washing the jacket. Restore the fabric's water-repellent properties using a suitable treatment with each wash. This will maximise your garment’s performance for as long as you use it. ERGONOMIC CUT: The trousers’ lines were selected to give you the greatest comfort on your ski runs. The trousers will be slightly loose so you can easily wear a base layer underneath as this model is a waterproof trouser without warm layer. Preformed knees to stop any discomfort in movement. ANKLE REINFORCEMENTS: For maximum protection of your trousers, we have selected an extremely durable material around the ankles to reduce cuts due to ski edges. We have also glued a specific material inside the trousers to stop your boot hooks from wearing the membrane too quickly. RECCO® system: All our Freeride jackets and trousers are equipped with the RECCO® system. With RECCO® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Someone who is equipped with RECCO® reflectors and is buried in the snow can be quickly and accurately located by the emergency services using the RECCO® tracker. RECCO® reflectors are not a substitute for an AVD. The RECCO® technology works as a complementary measure, increasing the chances of being found in time.
