The lower legs are gusseted to fit over mountaineering boots, with zips to pull them in so you can wear them with your walking boots or approach shoes too. Ardent softshell trousers are protective and tough, cutting out the cold and wind and keeping you comfortable over a wider range of conditions without restricting your movements, so that you can enjoy being active in the mountains without thinking about what you’re wearing. Ardent trousers are made from a double weave softshell with a PFC-free water repellent coating. This creates a two-layer fabric to make them abrasion, wind and water resistant on the outside, yet breathable, comfortable and soft on the inside. A touch of spandex in the fabric means you’re not hindered on the harder moves, and a gusseted crotch and articulated knees accommodates even the more audacious of bridging moves.
