I believe that children have a need to live a care-free and joy-filled life. Negative thoughts and toxic thinking patterns rob children of the joy they should experience. But the children of God, no matter the age, can live a life of peace and joy. This can be accomplished when the thought life is controlled by the promises in the Word of God; after all, that is where God's thoughts are found!
