Antirrhinum ‘Snap in Black Apricot’ is a fast-growing snapdragon that delivers high-contrast drama with its purplish-black foliage and soft pink-yellow hooded blooms. Flowering from June to September, this nectar-rich variety is a favorite for butterflies and works beautifully as a focal point in sunny borders, wildlife gardens, or patio containers. Its sturdy, upright stems also make it an excellent choice for long-lasting cut flower arrangements. While botanically a short-lived perennial, it is best grown as a frost-tender annual. Seedlings and cuttings should be grown under glass until the risk of frost has passed, while larger 9cm plants should be protected during early spring. To maintain its bushy habit and vibrant display in fertile, well-drained soil, pinch out the growing tips, water regularly, and apply a high-potash fertilizer every two weeks, deadheading spent blooms to ensure continuous flowering until the first frosts.
