This media converter provides a 100 Mbps RJ45 port and a 100 Mbps SC fibre port, converting between electrical and optical signals for long-distance data transmission through optical fibre. It can be applied to commercial scenarios such as park security monitoring and wireless networking. The device adopts WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) technology, enabling send and receive data at distances of up to 20 km over a single fibre, which saves half of the cable deployment cost. It transmits data at 1310 nm wavelength and receives data at 1550 nm wavelength on optical fibre. A paired unit works at the opposite end by receiving data at 1310 nm wavelength and sending data at 1550 nm wavelength. This media converter can be used as a standalone device without rack mounting or integrated with a compatible rack for auto MDI/MDI-X functionality in which duplex mode is automatically negotiated.
