The crimp tool is waterproof allowing it to be used in a number of different environments without subjugating it to stress or damage. The interchangeable adapters can also be stored within the tool when they are not use so you won t lose them.Useful Features (Connectors) The great thing about compression connectors is you do not need to solder. The crimp tool will cause the connector to clamp onto the inserted cable very securely. The connectors have been precision manufactured and built with very high quality components. Directions The following steps can be followed for all connection types (F-Type, BNC and RCA): You will need to strip the PVC outer layer without damaging the core inside, you can do this with one of our cable strippers but if you are confident with a pair of snips/pliers, you can strip the outer layer away with either of those. Having removed enough insulation, you will see the silver/copper coloured wire net/braid around the internal insulation. Fold this braiding back over the outer PVC layer and then remove any foil shielding. The following instructions should only be followed for F-Type Connectors (instructions for other connectors found below)You can now insert an F-Connector over the top of the prepared cable so that the internal insulation is flush with the hole in the connector, insert the cable into the crimp tool and close all the way. Now trim any excess copper away from the top of the connector so it protrudes around 2-3mm. Your F-Connector is now securely crimped in place. The following instructions should only be followed for BNC and RCA Connectors (instructions for other connectors found below) You can now insert a BNC or RCA connector onto the prepared cable (be sure to put the relevant adapter into the tool). Be careful to ensure that the internal plastic ring of the connector goes under the outer PVC layer of your cable. Once this is pushed in, insert the cable and connector into the tool and close the handle all of the way (DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY WITH BNC CONNECTORS) , you have now successfully compression crimped onto your cable.
