With its large leaves and finely braided trunks, the Pachira is a beautiful and unique plant. The Pachira develops a relatively thin and flexible stem that can be braided. In East Asia, it is considered an element that, according to Feng Shui, brings prosperity and good luck into the home. The five leaves on each branch symbolize the five basic Feng Shui elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The Pachira is also known by many names, such as Water Cacao or Money Tree. It earned this name because in the Far East it is believed that the leaves can “catch” money. This makes it an ideal gift for birthdays, housewarmings, or weddings. The Pachira is a true tropical plant, originally from the swamps of eastern Brazil, Panama, and Costa Rica, where it can grow up to 20 meters tall.

The Pachira is ideal for people who sometimes forget their plants, because it does not make many demands. And the braided stem makes the Pachira look very special! The Pachira likes a bright spot, and not too close to the window. It stores water in its trunk, so the soil has to be dry before it is watered again. In winter the plant likes to be watered, this prevents leaf loss and stimulates the production of new leaves. Old leaves can be cut out quietly. In summer, the plant will need watering about 2 times a week.
